SACRAMENTO – State Senator Henry Stern released the following statement after the California Legislature passed a package of bills to extend the state’s historic Cap-and-Trade program to 2030.




SACRAMENTO –State Senator Henry Stern’s SB 756, which would provide restitution for mental health services to young sexual abuse victims, now heads to Governor Jerry Brown’s desk to await his signature after receiving unanimous approval from members of both the State Assembly and Senate.




SACRAMENTO, CA –Today Senator Henry Stern honored the Conejo Schools Foundation (CSF), an organization which supports local education initiatives in the Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD), at the California Non-Profit of the Year Awards Ceremony held in Sacramento.  The annual awards ceremony honors the contributions of non-profit organizations to the State of California.




MALIBU - At least a hundred kids from across Los Angeles County spent the day surfing, learning about the ocean environment and engaging with their state representatives in a whole new way at State Senator Henry Stern's Inaugural Surf Summit.

The event was the brainchild of Senator Stern who engaged the Children’s Lifesaving Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Malibu, West San Gabriel Valley, West Valley, and Variety Boys & Girls Club to participate and shuttle their members out to Zuma Beach for the summit.




SACRAMENTO – Senator Henry Stern released the following statement regarding the Senate’s passage of the 2017-18 state budget: 

“California's economy is surging, and while we could have spent more, this budget shows restraint.  Given the chaos in Washington, and inevitability of future downturns in the economy, bolstering the rainy day fund to $12 billion and reducing long-term pension liabilities makes good fiscal sense,” stated Senator Henry Stern.




SACRAMENTO – Today, State Senator Henry Stern’s SB 57 stalled today on the Senate Floor, falling three votes shy of the two-thirds threshold required to pass it on an urgency basis.
