Senator Stern Applauds 2020 Census Decision: “This is a Win for All Parts of California”

SACRAMENTO – Senator Henry Stern issued the following statement regarding a ruling by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California striking down the addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 Census:

“I applaud today’s decision to ensure that each and every Californian is counted in the 2020 Census. This is a win for all parts of California, red, blue and purple. Now is not the time or place for political games. There are too many services and federal dollars on the line for Californians who truly need them,” said Senator Stern. “Thank you to Attorney General Becerra and local partners, including Los Angeles County, LAUSD and the city of Los Angeles, for fighting for a California for all.”
